- Cam Mullis coached the Upsilon football team
- Jerome Boone and Rusty Slay were sponsors
- New Members were tapped on the evening of September 6, 1976
- Little Brother’s Breakfast scheduled was held on September 9, 1976 at
Shoney’s
- Little Brothers took the President’s Test and wrote an essay, “What it
means to be a Upsilon Man”
- Retreat was held on September 24-25, 1976
- Formal Induction was held on September 30, 1976 at the Broad Street
Methodist Church
- New Members were presented to the campus on October 6, 1976
- Sadies was held on October 15, 1976. Hollis Gause was the emcee. A check
was presented to Robert O’Bannon in appreciation for his contributions to
Sadies • Phi Sigma Alpha was again chosen to make the Sadies Chase Day dolls
- Committee Chairman were: Jimmy Catlett – Program, Keith Merchant - Ways
and Means, Cam Mullis - Induction Chairman, Chuck Smith – Social, Gary Stone -
Public Relations, Bob Herron – Judicial
- Upsilon served the Administration by ushering
- Upsilon reserved its traditional spot for a Homecoming booth
- Delta Zeta Tau asked Lee to put up a booth for their “Monster Mash”
- Upsilon won Derby Day on November 16, 1976. Jerry Steele was elected
Chairman of effort to participate in Derby Day.
- Jerry Steele coordinated effort to participate in Sigma’s “Gong Show”
- Upsilon decided to enter a basketball team in the Homecoming basketball
tournament
- Upsilon won the regular season football tournament
- New officers were elected on November 30, 1976
- A Christmas Party was held on December 11, 1976
- Upsilon gave Delta Zeta Tau $25 for Thanksgiving packages for needy
families.
- Upsilon gave the “Order of Cornelius” $10 for their Home for Children in
Sevierville
- Upsilon gave $20 to Sigma No Sigma to buy presents for needy children for
Christmas
- Upsilon participated in the Bryan-Cov-Lee Day by volunteering a barbershop
quartet: Steele, Bunn, Catlett, and Munford.
